Great Lakes Fright Fest? Imagine your at a campground with hundreds of other haunt enthusiasts an they have classes and demonstrations. Sounds good so far but where only getting started here! There is great food, good company and on Saturday night a haunted house to go through.
OK so now your thinking this is a urban legend, but your wrong it's 3 fun filled days in Petersburg Michigan that turns the Totem Campground into Halloween Town! Started by Karen (KKKrayKaren and Brian (KK'sKeeper) Taylor as get together with a few friends 9 years ago has turned into weekend with over 300 friends all enjoying everything haunted. Friday is when everyone begins arriving to set up there campsites and decorate them, yes many of the campers try to win the best decorated campsite. Everyone then gathers for some of KK's Keepers chili and later in the evening there is movie night. Saturday starts early with breakfast then demos, classes and childrens activites till luchtime with burgers,dogs and chili. Saturday afternoon has more demos and classes along with more fun for the kids till the pot luck dinner where everyone brings a dish to pass. After dinner is the raffels, fog off and then when dark comes the Haunters against Hunger haunted house. I know what your thinking a haunted house in a campground? Yep got that! You see everyone that attends has the oppertunity to create a room for the haunted house and there even prizes for the best ones. Best part is it only costs a can good to get in all the food collected goes to help the hungry in the area. How much would you pay for all this? Well I am telling you it is free my haunted friend, yes I said free. All you have to pay for is your campsite, bring a dish to pass and some can goods and or pett food for the haunted house and your in.
